Hello, international scientists, my name is Chip Lindgren and I am the Founder & President of AG Scientific, Inc. Founded in 1997, we are focused on advancing drug development via innovative biochemicals for preclinical research, as well as, custom raw materials for diagnostic test development.

History

• I am an educated microbiologist from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst

• We are established expert in fermentation derived secondary metabolites. Most products are antibiotics for gene selection, but products also include antimicrobial, anti-fungal, anti-cancer, antiviral, anti-parasitic and immunosuppressive reagents. Our breakthrough product was a partnership with Eli Lilly’s, Elanco division to purchase bulk Hygromycin B.

Antibiotics:

• Elanco used Hygromycin B in their pig feed but our application was the emergence of genetic engineering by performing plasmid cloning utilizing an antibiotic resistance marker. AG Scientific, Inc. developed a suite of Antibiotic selection agents including Blasticidin S, G-418, Puromycin, Gentamycin, Kanamycin, Ampicillin, Streptomycin, Carbenicillin…. We began successfully promoting this item at the time to all the leading Molecular Biology companies, sigma Chemical, Stratagene, Invitrogen, Clontech, ICN, Amersham….

• Most recently we have partnered with pharmaceutical clients utilizing CRISPR technology. The same antibiotic selection is employed before CRISPR/Cas system is utilized. This has blown open the door to a number of inherited diseases previously only treated therapeutically.
